The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) hosted 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winner Dmitry Muratov on 27 Feburary 2023. The event was organized by UCCS School of Public Affairs associate professor Edin Mujkic under the auspices of the N3SP and with the help of the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council. In his talk Muratov reflected on the collapse of the Soviet Union and the attempted establishment of democratic government in Russia which was undermined in the 1990s, leading to the rise of Vladimir Putin and his supporting networks. Muratov concluded with thoughts on the current war in Ukraine and the way it is being portrayed by state-dominated media inside Russia.
